The new season dives deeper into the lives of three extraordinary players whose stories embody grit and determination: 

Mac McClung

Returning for his second season on “The Break”, Mac McClung’s journey has captivated fans. The two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion turned heads with his gravity-defying moves during the 2022 and 2023 All-Star Weekends. But his story is about more than slam dunks—it’s a testament to perseverance. After turning down lucrative overseas contracts, McClung is back on a two-way deal with the Orlando and Osceola Magic, demonstrating his hunger for a long-term NBA career.

Dink Pate

At just 19 years old, Dink Pate is already making waves. Opting to join the NBA G League Ignite program over a traditional college basketball path, Pate’s bold choice reflects his drive to fast-track his NBA dreams. A projected first-round pick in 2025, Pate’s story is one of big decisions, immense sacrifice, and unwavering focus. 

Armando Bacot

After a record-breaking career at UNC, Armando Bacot has set his sights on the NBA. Known for his dominance on the boards and leadership on the court, Bacot is now showcasing his talents with the Memphis Hustle. His journey is a compelling reminder of the hard work required to transition from college stardom to the professional stage.

Shaq Returns as Narrator 

Basketball icon and The General’s brand ambassador Shaquille O’Neal returns to narrate Season 3, adding his signature voice to the emotional stories of these athletes. As Shaq puts it, “Being the voice of ‘The Break’ means so much to me because it’s about more than basketball—it’s about the heart, grind, and hustle it takes to make it to the top.”

Launched in 2022, The General’s multi-year partnership with the G League underscores their commitment to supporting those chasing their dreams, no matter the obstacles. 

This season, the partnership expands to include a presenting sponsorship of the NBA G League Winter Showcase, happening December 21, 2024, in Orlando. Fans will have the opportunity to experience the action live and connect with the G League community like never before.
