Expanding The General and G League’s partnership to host VIP game experiences for after-school youth programs
As we wrap up the 2023-24 basketball season, The General and NBA G League are reflecting on another successful year as partners. In addition to producing the second season of our award-winning docuseries, “The Break, presented by The General,” our partnership also resulted in the launch of a brand new community initiative called “Ball For All,” in partnership with local voluntary after-school programs.
The General and G League hosted the kids and volunteers of three different youth groups to attend VIP experiences at G League games across the country for the “Ball For All” program – the first in Las Vegas, Nevada, the second in Portland, Oregon, and the final in Kissimmee, Florida.
- December 8, 2023: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada were invited to attend the first “Ball for All” event at a G League Ignite game. Guests were able to watch projected pick of the 2024 NBA Draft Matas Buzelis and former NBA Champion Norris Cole in action on the court, both of whom are subjects of “The Break.”
- March 10, 2024: The kids of the Boys and Girls Club of Portland were invited to attend a Rip City Remix game, which included a pre-game pizza party, shootaround, high-five tunnel and on-court shoutout. As part of the tunnel, the kids got to give a pre-game high five to Pooh Jeter, Assistant GM of the Remix and season two subject of “The Break.”
- March 27, 2024: The Osceola Magic put on a great game for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, with Magic player and season one star of “The Break” Mac McClung even taking time to answer questions and shoot around with the group pre-game. The kids even got to participate in quarterly activities on the court.
We’re proud to provide once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for youth groups across the United States, furthering The General’s commitment to providing a break to those that need it most. Follow us on social media for exciting news about our community initiatives next season.
Plus, be sure to tune in to the final episode of “The Break, presented by The General” season two on the G League’s Youtube or via Tubi later this month.
